Joseph Lipke

Joseph Lipke, 72, a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, passed away on January 12, 2017.  Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield.  www.higginsandbonner.com A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 10:00AM at St. Genevieve’s RC Church in Elizabeth. Mr. Lipke was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Roselle Park, Elizabeth and Hillside.  He worked for 33 years, retiring in 2000. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of Vietnam, attaining the rank of Sergeant and was awarded The Purple Heart.  He was a member of The Military Order of the Purple Heart, The Marine Corps League and American Legion Post No. 328 in Clark as well as the 25 Year Club of The National Association of Letter Carriers. Mr. Lipke is survived by his wife, Susan (Peitz) Lipke, his daughter, Connie A. Novoa and her husband, Roger, his sons Todd J. Lipke and Daniel J. Lipke and his wife, Sheri, his grandchildren, Joey, Justin, Jason, Drew, Addison, Daniel and Madison, his sisters, Evelyn Nardone and Diane Keane and Patricia Thaler and his brothers, Arthur, James and Leonard. lieu of flowers donations can be made to Purple Heart association or.
