WILLIAM A. QUINN JR. 1928-2022, Was Born in Scranton Pa. and lived in Mountainside NJ. The son of the late William A. and Helen Berry Quinn and pre-deceased by his first wife Ruth Gavin Quinn. Bill graduated from the University of Scranton in 1949. He was an officer in the US Army and served in the Korean War. He joined the Regional Insurance Brokerage firm McGuinness, Johnson & Flannigan NYC in 1949. In 1955 the company merged with Frank B. Hall NYC where he was their Metropolitan Insurance Manager, President, CEO, and Chairman. Frank B. Hall subsequently merged with AON. After 40 years, in 1989 Bill joined Corroon & Black as Vice Chairman, COO and Corp. Director of Marketing. Corroon and Black soon became Willis Corroon and then Willis Corp. As a highly regarded Insurance Broker he travelled worldwide for his clients. He enjoyed especially in his tales of trips to Nigeria for ITT. He was a member of the National Association of Insurance Brokers (NAIB) of which he was a past President, and also a member of RIMS
He was Past President of Echo Lake Country Club: Westfield;
Former member of Suburban Golf Club: Union and a member of South Seas Club in Captiva, FL
Overlook Hospital Foundation Advisory Council and former Chairman of the Foundation. He served on the Human Resources and Insurance Risk Management Committees of Atlantic Health Systems.
Former Westfield Mayor Rich Bagger, appointed Bill to a special Insurance Review Committee. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes, Mountainside NJ. He loved golf, a good card game and his vacations to Long Beach Island and Captiva FL.
He is survived by his wife Camilla Reid Kuhn Quinn and six children: Patricia Quinn, Unionville NY; Judith Quinn, Dallas TX; Christine Quinn, Portland OR; Mark D. Kuhn III M.D. (Jean), Yardley PA; Lucy H. Kuhn, NYC; Emma Kuhn Halik (Dan), Ramsey NJ; and six grandchildren; Kelly Stewart, San Francisco, Peter Rowland Kuhn (Marisa), NYC; Mark D. Kuhn IV, Philadelphia, Alexander G. Kuhn, Long Beach; Meredith Lucy Halik, Lt .US Army, Philadelphia & Daniel F. Halik NROTC University of Maryland; And several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Overlook Hospital Foundation, Summit NJ; Our Lady of Lourdes, Mountainside NJ.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Helen’s RC Church, 1600 Rahway Ave., Westfield, NJ.
