William Hettler, III Obituary

William Joseph Hettler III

February 11, 1981 – October 1, 2024

William (Bill) Joseph Hettler III passed away on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at the age of 43. Bill was born on February 11, 1981 in Red Bank, New Jersey to William and Elise Hettler.  He was affectionately known to all who loved him as “Dad”, “Bill”, “Billy”, “Uncle B”, “Hettler”, and “Junior”.

Bill graduated from Holmdel High School and continued on to Bentley College in Massachusetts earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and was a member of the DKE Fraternity.  After graduation, Bill founded his real estate brokerage, Logistic Realty LLC, in 2009.  His father, Bill Sr., joined shortly thereafter and they worked on countless deals together across the tri-state area for over 15 years. They were known together as “Junior and Senior” and were best friends both in life and in business.

Bill was, above all else, a loving, devoted, comical, and adventurous family man who loved living life to its fullest. Bill lived for his children, and they were truly his pride and joy. He was an Eagle Scout, an avid skier (especially with his daughter Morgan), a fisherman, a talented cook, a self-trained mason, and an entrepreneur.  Most notable was his love of carpentry, which he inherited from his grandfather, William Joseph Hettler.  Like his Grandfather, he could fix anything and build anything, spending hours of his free time in his workshop.

Loved ones surviving him are his wife, Marissa, daughter Morgan, age 8, and son William (Liam) age 5, of Westfield, NJ; his parents, William and Elise Hettler, of Holmdel, NJ; his sister, Brooke MacMichael (Hettler) and her husband Ronan MacMichael of Randolph, NJ; his brother, Ken Hettler of Atlanta, GA; and countless other nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues, and friends who loved him dearly.

A private service and burial will be held for the families on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 10:30 am in Westfield, NJ.  The service will begin at Higgins and Bonner Funeral Home and will conclude at Fairview Cemetery.  A celebration of life luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers or donations, an Educational Fund has been set up for Bill’s children.  Kindly make contributions payable to “Elise Hettler” at 30 Takolusa Dr., Holmdel, NJ 07733 who will coordinate deposits with Charles Schwab. Thank you for your kindness.

“Enjoy the little things in life, for someday you will realize they were the big things.”
