Veronica McLaughlin Quillin
September 27, 1930 – June 24, 2023
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Veronica “Ronnie” Quillin of Mountainside, New Jersey. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born in Newark, New Jersey on the birthday of her Mother, Veronica McLaughlin, Ronnie was a blessing to us all. She was the last surviving sibling of the McLaughlin family -- Thomas, John, Gabriel, Agnes, Elizabeth, and Anne. We will miss her endearing stories of growing up with such a lively bunch always ready to have a good time. Ronnie continued to live in Newark when first married to her predeceased husband, Albert Quillin along with her first-born daughter Diane Smith. Her dream was to live “down the shore”, and in 1957 that dream came true when they bought their first home in VanadaWoods located in Brick, New Jersey. Fourteen years plus after her first daughter was born, three more daughters came along -- Moira Mancini, Tara Thompson, and Alanna Fradella. The years spent in Vanada Woods were beyond special to her. Countless memories in a very tight-knit community that included ladies luncheons, beach parties, crabbing early in the morning with her girls and spending the day at the ocean with her best friend Madeline O’Dell and kids just to name a few. The move to Mountainside brought her closer to her family where every holiday was celebrated with a beautiful table set to gather, laugh and reminisce. In addition to leaving behind her ever-grateful four daughters, Ronnie leaves behind eightgrandchildren Ryan, Michael, Lauren, Christian, Sarah, Anthony, Veronica and Emily. They will miss their Nonnie immensely as well as her sons-in-law Chris and Bob who were very special to her. Ronnie is survived by many nieces and nephews who she was so very fond of. We will surely miss the great times shared enjoying her favorite past time of visiting Atlantic City. She had a smile and laugh that would light up a room. She will be truly missed by all.
