Thomas Willson Obituary

Thomas G. Willson

Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.

Thomas G. Willson, affectionately known as "Poppy, Gramps and “Unk”, passed away on Saturday, November 30th being held by Marlene, his childhood sweetheart and wife of almost 30 years.  He was surrounded by love and his family. Tom was a devoted husband and was dedicated to his family with nothing being more important. Tom was happiest during the many family parties in NJ and Nashville, laughing, a good meal, in or near the ocean, traveling, watching the Yankees and Giants games and spending time in his yard and pool.  He loved “puttering” around his home. Tom was a truck driver and was happy driving throughout the state most recently with Mohawk for 20 years before retiring.

Above all, Tom treasured his family. His grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were the light of his life, and he had a way of making each of them feel uniquely special and loved.  His love for them was immeasurable and left an indelible mark on each of their hearts. Tom was proud to have 2 children whom he loved spending time with.   Tom's warmth, humor, and zest for life made him deeply loved by many leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories.

Tom is survived by his wife, Marlene, daughter Sheila Van Daly and husband Brian, son Eric and wife Mandy Hansen, grandchildren Daniel, Madden and Sloane, his sister Linda Carroll and husband Donald and nieces Chrissy Carroll, Jennifer Martinez, (husband Tommy) Julie Willson and nephews Michael Carroll (wife Maria) and John Patrick Willson (wife Judy). He also leaves behind great nieces and nephews - Melody, Mallerie, Emma, Brittany, Owen, Alexa, TJ, Brady and Jayden. Predeceased by parents George and Marie and brother John Willson.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-6pm at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave, Westfield.  Funeral service will be on Saturday during visiting hours with cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to St Jude's.
