Thomas A Lynes

Thomas A Lynes, 85, of Elizabeth, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 13, 2024. A lifelong resident of Elizabeth, he was a police officer with the Elizabeth Police Department for 31 years before retiring. He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor (nee Dowling), his children Karen (Robert) Mirynowski, Michael (Kim) Lynes, Kevin Lynes, John (Stephanie) Lynes, Christine (Lou) Sofianakos, Deborah Lynes, his grandchildren Lauren (Tim) Sweeney, Megan, Shane, Amanda, Lou, Shelby, Jennifer, Nicholas, Daniel, great- grandson Callum Sweeney, his sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 4 to 8 pm at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday January 18, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Genevieve’s RC Church, Elizabeth, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
