Terry Sheils

Teresa “Terry” O’Keefe Sheils, age 62, of Tampa, Fl passed away peacefully Thursday January 13,2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Terry, daughter of Joe and Teresa O’Keefe (both deceased) is survived by her husband of 32 years, Chris, and their 3 children Claire, Colleen and Brendan, her 2 brothers Tom O’Keefe (Barry) and Joe O’Keefe (Tracy) and her 2 sisters, Ann Marie Scanlon (Tom Della Badia) and Claire Bockenhauer(John).   Terry was “Aunt Terry” to 31 nieces and nephews, devoted cousin to many and a great friend to countless others.

“Tampa Terry” was a true Jersey girl and an Irish lass who loved her Irish relatives and her Irish heritage.  Known for her quick wit and great one liners, Terry’s sense of humor was infectious.  She was a beautiful person inside and out.  She was kind, generous, funny and sassy with a zest for life.  To know Terry was to love her. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends.  Terry liked to call herself a “domestic engineer”, and she loved every minute of it.  Of her many beloved attributes, none shone through brighter than her strength as a mother .  She loved her kids immensely and nurtured all 3 to be strong, confident, caring individuals.  They will each carry on Terry’s legacy of love and joy.

As Terry would say, “three snaps!”

Visitation will be on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 4 to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Helen’s RC Church in Westfield. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Wall.
