Susan Lipke Obituary

Susan Madeline Lipke (nee Peitz), 72, a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, passed away on December 27, 2021, surrounded by her children.  Mrs. Lipke was a retired pre-k teaching assistant for the Elizabeth Board of Education who began her career at St. Genevieve’s school.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother affectionately known as Maga by her adoring grandchildren.  Susan is predeceased by her husband, Joseph.  She is survived by her daughter, Constance A. Novoa and her husband, Roger, her sons Todd J. Lipke (Jamie) and Daniel J. Lipke and his wife, Sheri, her grandchildren, Joey, Justin, Daniel, Jason, Drew, Madison and Addison, her brothers, Timothy Peitz (Susan), Thomas (Patricia), Carl (Pamela) and Joseph (Kathleen) and many cherished nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 4pm to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. www.higginsandbonner.com.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 10:00AM at St. Genevieve’s RC Church in Elizabeth. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains, NJ or St. Jude Children’s research Hospital.
