Sandra Amalfe, age 99, of West Caldwell, New Jersey passed away Tuesday January 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her three children, Carol Eisenstein, John Amalfe and Christine Amalfe, her daughter in law, Patricia Amalfe, her sons in law, Jeffrey Eisenstein and Thomas Moore, her seven grandchildren, Michael Amalfe, Victoria Duffin, Thomas Amalfe, Stephen Amalfe, Alessandra Moore, Kyle Moore and Sam Moore, and her two great grandchildren Noah Amalfe and Tiger Duffin. She is also survived by her beloved brother in law Anthony Amalfe, and sisters in law, Jen Amalfe and Rosemarie Amalfe, her nieces Diane Campanelli and Debra Fontanelli, and her nephews Anthony Amalfe and John Amalfe Jr.  She was loved by all who knew her.

Sandy was born in Silvano D’Orba Italy and emigrated to the United States when she was a child.  She grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey where she learned English and excelled in school. She met the love of her life, the late Salvatore “Sam” Amalfe and they were married in 1945.  Sandy and Sam were inseparable, eventually moving to Union, New Jersey where they raised their three children.  Sandy and Sam then retired to Green Island, New Jersey and Fort Lauderdale, Florida,  spending  72 wonderful years together before Sam’s death in 2017.  Sandra loved her family dearly, cherished her Italian heritage,  and spent her time cooking, entertaining and enjoying her children and grandchildren. She had a very big heart and was always quick to give a compliment.  Her family was the most important thing in her life. She spent her last years at Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell with her loving aide, Olga Kramer where they enjoyed weekly cocktail hour, listening to country music, doing the rosary and chatting with friends.
