Rose Sansone

Rose Sansone (nee Giordano) 93, of Kenilworth passed away on May 23, 2024. Rose was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey where she worked at Ivers-Lee Packaging Company. She wed in September of 1963 and then moved to Hillside in 1967 where she raised her family and lived for over 43 years before moving to Kenilworth in 2011.

While living in Hillside, she worked for Bristol Myers Laboratories and later as a school aide for the Hillside Public Schools system for over 20 years. She retired from the school system in 1998 to help care for her beloved grandchildren. She later volunteered as a school aide at Saint Theresa's School in Kenilworth.

Rose was a long-time member and officer of The Hillside Italian-American Ladies Auxiliary and was very actively involved with the Christ the King Home-School Association. She loved vacationing along the Jersey Shore, listening to Frank Sinatra, watching Hallmark movies, and most of all spending time with her family. Her greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother.

Rose is predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and Vincent Giordano, her husband Michael P. Sansone and brothers Andrew, Angelo and Michael Giordano. She is survived by her son Nicholas, daughter Maria Harris (George), beloved grandsons Tyler and Kyle Harris, sister Elizabeth LaPolla, sister-in-law Anna Galante, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved pet dog Sharlet.

Visitation will take place at Higgins and Bonner Funeral Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave. Westfield, NJ on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
