Rosanne Hangarter Obituary

Rosanne Hangarter (nee Shipka) was born in Elizabeth on February 28, 1943 to Ann Veiga and George Shipka.  George was a Merchant Marine and died in WW2 when Rosanne was three years old. Ann remarried to Richard Veiga when Rosanne was five and was a loving step-father to her.  

After graduating from Battin High School. Rosanne married Francis Hangarter, her high school sweetheart, on October 27, 1962.  

Rosanne was a homemaker, mother and doting grandmother for many years.  She loved children and was a teacher’s aide at St. Elizabeth’s in Linden.  Rosanne loved her family, QVC, and shopping for her grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.  

She is predeceased by her father George Shipka, mother Ann Veiga, stepfather Richard Veiga, and a daughter, Karen, who passed shortly after birth.  She is survived by her husband Francis Hangarter, son Franc and partner Mitch Davis of Dallas, daughter Maureen and husband Danny Costello of Cranford and her grandsons Dylan and Shane Costello.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11-2pm at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield, NJ.  Funeral service will be at 1pm at the funeral home.  Cremation will be private.
