Ronald Roskowski Obituary

With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Roskowski, a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on November 21, 2025. Though our grief is great, it is softened by the laughter he gave us, the love he poured into our lives, and the memories that will stay with us forever.

Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, Ron had a lifelong passion for music, Corvettes, and the shore house he cherished in Manahawkin. In his early years, he played the Hammond C3 organ in a band that traveled throughout the tri-state area, creating lasting friendships and countless good memories. His first “baby” was his burnt-orange 1970 Corvette Stingray, which he cruised from Hoboken to the Jersey Shore with Iron Butterfly blasting from the speakers and his girl Linda by his side. Professionally, Ron devoted more than 30 years to Best Foods Unilever as a Production Supervisor before retiring.

Ron had a way of drawing people in without even trying, funny, thoughtful, caring, and genuine in every sense of the word. His sense of humor was unmatched, turning ordinary moments into stories that still make us smile. When he entered a room, the atmosphere softened and lifted. His smile, paired with a gentle “Hey sweetie” or playful “Hey kid,” made those around him feel welcomed and loved.

As Linda’s husband and the proud father of Ashley and Lindsey, Ron devoted his whole heart to the people he loved most. He worked hard, quietly giving up his own comforts so his family never had to. His daughters grew up wrapped in his love, secure in the safety he created and the support he offered without hesitation. He was their guardian, their supporter, their steady voice of guidance — and their ever-reliable source for daily weather updates, traffic reports, and product recalls.

To his granddaughters, Josie, Izabelle, Sofie, and Zoe, Papa Ron was pure magic. They were everything to him, and you could see him light up the second they came around. Whether he was giving in to the “just one more cookie,” sitting through their many pretend classes, or soaking up their laughter, there was nowhere he’d rather be than right in the middle of their happiness.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Linda (née Giangolano); his daughters, Ashley and her husband Christopher, and Lindsey and her husband Rick; and his cherished granddaughters, Josie, Izabelle, Sofie, and Zoe. He was predeceased by his parents, Isabel and Henry.

An only child, Ron was like a brother to his beloved cousin Betty Nonnemacher and to his lifelong best friend, Tom Plonski. He was also a treasured brother-in-law to Marie Stinson and her husband Eddie, Paula Lucignano and her husband Joe, and a devoted uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Ron will be missed beyond measure and remembered with every song, every smile, and every story that begins with, “You remember when he...?”

Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of Ron on Tuesday, November 25, at Higgins and Bonner Funeral Home in Westfield, NJ, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held the following day, Wednesday at 10 am., at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Westfield, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
