Richard passed away at home on December 19, 2020. He was born in Cranford, New Jersey on May 25, 1935 to Charles and Catherine (Tinnesz) Lear.
Richard worked for EcoLab for 44 years before retiring on September 30, 1995. He joined Magnus in 1951, progressed through various positions in New Jersey after EcoLab acquired Magnus, and transferred to Illinois in 1983. He was appointed Vice President and returned to New Jersey 1992.
He was an Elder of the First United Presbyterian Church in Plainfield, New Jersey and a veteran of the US Army. Richard enjoyed boating, fishing and motorcycling.
He is survived by daughters; Lori Sawicki and Terry Lear, son Gary Lear, long-time partner Heather O'Donnell, stepchildren, Donna Aprile and Randy Schamber, sister Lois VanderStel, cousins, nephews and a niece. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Beverly S Lear and former spouse, Patricia H. Lear.
Services are being held privately and arranged by Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.
