Raymond Holderried Obituary

Raymond Holderried, 72, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2021 with his family by his side.  Ray was a proud lifelong resident of Elizabeth, NJ.  He graduated from St. Mary’s High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Chris.  She later became his loving and devoted wife of 51 years.  Ray was the owner and sole proprietor of the Superior Electric Company in Elizabeth, NJ since 1975.  His “Let Us Remove Your Shorts” t-shirts are adorned all over Union County and his handy work has illuminated so many buildings and homes throughout the area.

An avid, outdoorsman and Eagle Scout, Ray loved to fish, boat, crab; anything to do with his beloved shore town of Toms River, NJ.  He had a deep passion for his Dallas Cowboys and his vinyl record collection.  He loved to strum on his Fender and listen to 45’s on his classic juke box.  His biggest passion, however, was reserved for spending time with and enjoying his family.  He adored each of his 4 grandchildren and reveled in playing in the pool, playing poker, watching scary movies, and looking for treasures at the local garage sales and thrift shops.

He is predeceased by his father Charles, mother Louise and his brother John.  Ray is survived by his wife Chris, brother Charles, daughter Michele Berry, son-in-law Walter, daughter Lori Wood, son-in-law Jim and 4 grandchildren:  Joseph, Ava, Louis and Matthew.

There will be a wake Sunday, December 19 at 4-8 pm and a funeral, Monday, December 20 at 11 am.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Raymond’s memory to the ALS Association or the American Heart Association
