Phillip E. Berlinski
Phillip Edward Berlinski, 57, of Mountainside died on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Overlook Hospital, Summit, surrounded by the love of his wife and three children. Viewing will be at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, Westfield, on Thursday, March 7, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, 300 Central Avenue, on Friday, March 8, at 10 am.
Born in Plainfield and raised in Linden, Phil graduated Linden High School in 1980. He was most recently employed by Nippon Express, a global logistics services company, leading several aspects of its distribution center in Edison, NJ. He previously worked as a supervisor at Ingersoll Rand and Star Micronics.
Phil was fond of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, and running. He also enjoyed working around the home, gardening, and wood-working—although spending time with family and making people laugh were his favorite past-times.
Phil was predeceased by his mother Barbara (Endryki) Berlinski and his infant brother Matthew. He is survived by his wife Gloria Arminio Berlinski, his children Amanda, Jeremy, and Vincent; his father William Berlinski; sister Ruth Wrzosek and her children Rebecca Coleman (Jake), Rachel Rogers (Adam), James, Robert, Jacob, Andrew, and Regina; his sister Rose Marie Juba (Frank) and their children Kayleigh and Frank; and his brother William Berlinski and family. Phil is also survived by sister-in-law Barbara La Mort (Dennis), brother-in-law David Arminio (Kathy), sister-in-law Dianne Schmitt (John), brother-in-law Tom Arminio (Jan), and brother-in-law John Arminio (Kim), and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
