Patrick Scanlon

Patrick “Pat” Scanlon of Cranford, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the age of 64.

Patrick grew up and spent most of his life in Cranford, where he went on to meet his wife, Lisa, of 40 years and raise their sons, Sean and Colin. Patrick built a 38-year career with Public Service Electric & Gas in New Jersey. But above all, Patrick’s greatest joy in life was being a father and grandfather.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his son, Sean Scanlon (Michelle); his son, Colin Scanlon; his grandchildren, Rowan Patrick and Callan Shane; his sister Maureen Reilly of Clark; his brother Albert Scanlon (Pamela) of Toms River; and his sister Caroline Felmly (Bradford) of Myrtle Beach, SC; and countless other extended family members and friends.

Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William Scanlon and Catherine (Froidauvx) Scanlon; his sister, Kathleen Cottingham; his brother, William Scanlon; and his brother, Thomas Scanlon. 

Patrick will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a devoted husband, loving father and a proud grandfather, or as his grandchildren called him “Pop-potato.”

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Higgins & Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home on Monday, May 9, 2022. Funeral services for Patrick will be at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Linden, New Jersey on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11am. Patrick will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
