Patricia Ryan Obituary

Patricia Ann Ryan, 78, passed away on January 16, 2024 surrounded by her family at The Center For Hope & Palliative Care in Scotch Plains after a long illness.

Predeceased by her parents, John and Catherine Ryan, Patti is survived by her brothers, Jack, Bobby (Jane) and Jeff, her sister, Debbie (Ryan) Dolan, her aunt, Sharon O’Connor Mineo, her nephews, Jack Ryan (Mimi) and John Wilson and her nieces, Maureen (Ryan) Herman (Andy), Casey (Ryan) Houston (Kevin), Colleen (Ryan) Weiss (Carl), and Rebecca Ryan Dolan. She is also survived by her  great nieces and nephews, Andrew, Madeline, Kailey, Jack, Robert, Bobby, Catherine, Troy and her beloved Emmett.

Patti was a proud graduate of Benedictine Academy where she made lifelong friends, and St Vincent Hospital and Foundling. Patti had a long career in Pediatric offices and later Medical Diagnostics, retiring in 2017.

Patti, also affectionately known as Priss, was the official baby whisperer. There was never a time when she wouldn’t know how to handle a pediatric emergency. She loved her NY Yankees and summers in Ocean Beach. She adored her nieces and nephews. In 2020, she joyfully came out retirement to care for her great-nephew Emmett for two years. There was nothing more important to Patti than her family. She was loved beyond measure by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.

A funeral mass in celebration of Patti’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at St. Joseph The Carpenter RC Church in Roselle at 10am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Center For Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Scotch Plains in Patti’s name.
