Pasquale Arpino passed away in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the age of 92, after a 52-year battle with heart disease, and is now reunited with his beloved wife Maria (Cicia) and son Dr. David Arpino. Born in Vico Equense, Italy, he left behind ten siblings at the age of 27 to join his sister Elvira in the US with five dollars in his pocket. Being a jack of all trades, he became the first construction foreman at Anselmi & DeCicco, Inc. in Maplewood where he worked for over 30 years and by night he built and managed several rental properties, all the while exemplifying his favorite saying: “You gotta sweat!”
Pasquale is survived by daughter Dr. Elvira Anselmi; and son Dino and his wife Linda; and is a proud grandfather to Eustace (E.J.), Sergio, and Vincent; and best friend to Toby. He will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends as a loving father, a relentless hard-working provider, an avid gardener, and a man of integrity and honor.
Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood at 10 am on Wednesday, December 30. He will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven in East Hanover, NJ.
