Nicholas Andrew Halvas, 84, of Mountainside, passed away on January 17, 2023. Nick was a registered pharmacist and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years before retiring. He loved photography and was an avid reader. Nick was also an accomplished baseball player in his youth. He received both a bachelor's degree and master's degree from Long Island University. Born in Astoria, NY he lived in Jackson Heights, NY, and Westfield before moving to Mountainside.                                                                     

Nick is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia, his dear brother-in-law, Peter Costalas and dear sister-in-law Carolyn Sempepas as well as many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the funeral service at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
