Michele Cambria, 62, of Westfield, New Jersey, died peacefully at home on December 27, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
Michele was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and lived her entire life in Union County, New Jersey. Her family owned and operated a flower shop in Linden and from an early age Michele played a part in running what was truly a family business. In addition to being a hard worker, Michele was an outstanding student. She attended St. Theresa Grammar School in Linden where she was the Valedictorian of her eighth grade class. She then attended Mother Seton High School in Clark where she graduated with the distinction of Salutatorian of her senior class. She graduated from Seton Hall University with honors and then attended Seton Hall University Law School where she earned her law degree. She worked briefly as an associate attorney in local private law firms before she realized her dream job of having her own law firm. She established a general practice law firm which she successfully ran for over twenty five years. She prioritized helping people over profits and many of her clients became lifelong friends as well. Never short of enthusiasm or energy, and despite a full time job running her law firm, she pursued her second dream job of opening a dance studio. Michele was a lifelong dancer accomplished in several dance methods. She wanted to share her skills and love of the arts with local youth. Dance was a personal as well as a family passion and her two daughters attended classes in her studio.
Michele’s truest passion was her family. Her dedication to, and love of, her two daughters Lorraine Cambria and Christina Cambria were the cornerstone of her life and she will be missed dearly by them. She is predeceased by her father Michael Verchick. She is survived by her daughters Lorraine and Christina, her mother Lorraine Verchick and brother Glenn Verchick and sister-in-law Suzanne Verchick, and many other family members and friends.
