Michael Andrew Chencharik

Michael Andrew Chencharik, affectionately known as Mickey, passed away on March 18, 2022 at the age of sixty-seven due to Cholangiocarcinoma (Cancer). He was surrounded by his loving family and supportive friends in his last days.

Mickey was born to Andrew and Theophile Chencharik in Newark, NJ, alongside his two loving brothers, Andy Sr. and Bobby Chencharik. Mickey is survived by his wife, Andrea (née Martone), his children Dean and Bianca, and daughter-in-law Rebecca, his sweet grandchildren Mara and Cole, and his brothers Andy Sr., Bobby, and sister-in-law Kathy.

In Mickey’s early years, he graduated from East Side High School in Newark, NJ, built his business as the Co-Owner of a commercial HVAC company, Excel Air, and was an active member of the Local 274 Pipefitters Union. In his leisure, he spent his time reading history books, improving his home, playing with his grandchildren, and listening/giving advice to others. He could not pass up the opportunity to sing and dance to his favorite MoTown hits. Mickey could often be found in the Summer hanging by his pool with a Corona in hand and Winters in Naples, Florida. Mickey’s blue eyes, infectious smile, and listening ear were adored by all his loved ones.

Mickey’s kind hearted spirit and loving personality will be immensely missed and remembered, as well as celebrated in all aspects of life by all who knew him.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Springfield, NJ, and the interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.
