Mary Regan Obituary

Mary Frances Regan (formerly Mahoney) passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the age of 78. She was born in Washington Heights, New York on November 24, 1942 to Martin and Mary (née Connor) Regan of Counties Roscommon and Louth, Ireland respectively.  She is survived by her sister, Sr. Peg Regan, SSND and predeceased by her brother, Thomas Regan.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Margaret, Patrick, Krista, and Kevin, her grandchildren Megan, Mackenzie, Allie, Erin, Kyle, Courtney, Stephen and Jonathan, her sons-in-law Stephen Stagg and Steven Pinkin, her sister-in-law, Peachy (née Kennedy) Regan and nieces Siobhan Falk and Stephanie Regan as well as numerous cousins.

In addition to residing in New York, Mary lived in Bloomingdale, NJ with her husband, John Mahoney (deceased 2007). She also lived in Gulfport, MS with her longtime companion, Charlie Vogt until Hurricane Katrina destroyed their home. She then moved to Westfield, NJ until they were able to return to Mississippi, and finally resided in West Milford, NJ where she lived until her passing.

Mary was always ready for a party. She loved to talk, loved to laugh, loved to dance. She was welcoming, hospitable, outgoing and a very loyal friend to many. Her love of children was evident in how she enjoyed caring for her cousins’ children and later her grandchildren whenever able.

Mary adored her family, her children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than their visits. She will be missed and remembered fondly by all.
