Martin David Kiernan,43, of Roselle Park, NJ passed away in Kenilworth, NJ on January 6th 2024.

He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on October 31, 1980 to David Heidler and Annie Heidler. He went to several different schools and made many friends along the way. Friends and family were one of the most important things to Martin. After graduating high school he joined the Army. Once he returned home he eventually worked for Iron Workers Union Local 11. A job he loved and was very proud of.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents David Heidler and Annie Heidler. He is survived by Anna Kiernan and his children Manny and Sophia Kiernan. He was always afraid to bring children into this crazy world. Once he became a father he knew he would have it no other way. His children are the loves of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Jacquita Kiernan, Breanne Nileski, David Heidler, and Bryan Heidler. Martin was the oldest sibling and took the position seriously. He never missed a birthday call or a visit. He always showed up for them. He would come to visit and always bring a board game which we would play out of obligation at first but eventually thoroughly enjoy. He grew up playing board games with his mother and family and always loved it. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins that he had private connections with. He is survived by the many friends he has made throughout his life. Nicole Burak and Melissa Vazquez and their children are lifelong friends more like siblings. Bobby Johnston is one of his closest friends, a friend he spent the most time with recently. They kept each other laughing in the hardest of times.

Martin loved a good long grueling game of monopoly, a perfectly grilled ham and cheese, road trips with friends, Incubus, singing (he was a good singer), super heroes, video games, comics and was always down for a concert, movie, comedy show or arcade trip.  He was the best listener, the most compassionate and most loving person anyone could ever be lucky enough to know.
