Obituary
Marie Zawerczuk (nee Coben), 74, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at home in Springfield Township.
She is survived by husband Andrew Zawerczuk; daughter Andrea Zak of Santa Monica, CA; son Paul Zawerczuk, his wife Jessica, and creative grandson Benjamin of Brick, NJ; and sister Maxine Coben of Brick, NJ.
Raised in Bloomfield, Marie spent the last 35 years in Springfield.
She started her professional life as an Administrative Assistant at Mutual Benefit Life Ins. Co. before taking time off to raise two children. She cherished her time serving as a teacher's aid in the special education department at Florence M Gaudineer Middle School. She was the office manager for a software company before retiring.
A devoted wife and mother, Marie enjoyed time with her grandson, planting a summer vegetable garden, puzzles at the kitchen table, dinners out at the Union Plaza Diner, and all things Christmas. Her pre-deceased Westie Spooky was her loving shadow for 15 years.
Family and friends are invited to the Thursday (5/5) 4pm-8pm funeral at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield and a Friday (5/6) 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Roman Catholic Church (Springfield). Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Masks suggested.
