Marc O. Savage

Marc O’Neil Savage, age 56, passed away at his home in Wayne, NJ on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Marc grew up in Mountainside, graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School and Kean University. Marc was a proud and very dedicated C.P.A. who specialized in corporate tax being employed with some of the top firms in the nation. 

Marc was an outdoorsman, rock climbing with one hand while carrying a mountain bike in the other. He hiked the Grand Canyon and climbed the Rocky Mountains. He was interested in astronomy and always let us know when there was something cool to look at in the sky. He was a master of the grill, perfecting his own techniques and the perfect sear. He loved cooking, especially Christmas morning breakfast for his family. He had an extensive CD collection and would listen to his “old school” music at concert levels while sitting with his cat Michelena. Smokey and the Bandit, Rocky, Eric Clapton, Santana, Don Pepe, BMW, Aunt Helens chicken soup, Soft Shelled Crabs, Grandpa and Shanaghans - all some of his favorite things.

Marc leaves behind his wife, Rose, daughter Sara, parents, Lee and Geraldine Christensen, his sister Ellyn Dally, brother Scott Savage, brother-in-law Fred Dally, nieces Jessica Dally and Christiana Savage and nephews Freddie and Jack Dally. He also leaves behind his childhood friends and the fond memories of dirt biking and motorcycle riding. 

Viewing to be held on Wednesday, July 12 at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Avenue, Westfield from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Marc’s favorite cause St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.forstjude.org.
