Magdalene “Maggie” Figuccio passed away on September 2, 2021.
Maggie grew up in Jersey City then graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth with a BA Literature degree. This was followed with a BS Nursing degree from NYU, MS Nursing Seton Hall, and doctorate studies at Drew University. Maggie worked as an RN at several hospitals with her attaining higher levels of responsibility and then senior nursing management. Her last professional assignment before retiring in 2016 was as instructor at College of Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing. Upon retiring she enjoyed spendingtime with her husband, cats, and growing an abundance of orchids in her greenhouse.
Maggie and her husband Al were married 45 years. She was pleased and proud to be one of eight brothers and sisters.
Maggie is survived by her husband Albert (Al) Figuccio, brothers & sisters, Michael Bodner(deceased), Daniel (Danny)Bodner, Cecelia (CiCi) Tolve, Winifred (Winkie) Berger, Agatha Lyden, Monica Panek, and Daria Bodner.
Maggie spent many years in her professional career taking care of and helping others. Then, in the past year, Maggie received considerable care from doctors, nurses, and medical staff at several hospitals. She was extremely grateful of their professional care, recognizing it was often at and at times above the care level she always strode to provide to others over the years.
Visitation will be held at Higgins & Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Avenue, Westfield, NJ 07090 on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday September 9 at 10 A.M. at the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity. Although the church address is 315 First St., Westfield, the main doors to the church are located at 506 Westfield Ave., Westfield NJ, 07090.
