Lynda R Savickas Obituary

Lynda Rose (Catania) Savickas, of Westfield, NJ, passed away on March 3, 2026, after her fifteen-year battle with cancer. She was supported and surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

Lynda was an avid crafter, and loved to work with her hands. Whether knitting handmade socks for her husband, decorating gingerbread houses with her daughter, or calligraphing the invites for her son’s wedding, Lynda’s passion came through her creative pursuits. She never missed a Yankees game, and was the best Jeopardy! player in the household. More than anything, Lynda was passionate about her family — she was the biggest cheerleader to her husband, children, parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Family members consider her not only an exceptionally loving relative, but a fiercely loyal friend.

Lynda is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Edward Savickas; her children, Daniel Savickas (and wife Hannah), and Claudia Savickas; her grandson Wesley; her brother Christopher Catania; her sister Robyn Gaito; and her parents, Robert and Judith Catania.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 5th, from 4-8pm at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave, Westfield.  Funeral mass will be on Friday at 11:30am at St Helens RC Church, Westfield.  Friends and relatives can meet at the church at 11:15am.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations in memory of Lynda to Center for Hope Hospice & Palliative Care center in Scotch Plains, NJ.
