Lorraine Rose Norton

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lorraine Rose (Pennell) Norton, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  She passed peacefully on Feb 23rd at the age of 78 due to a long fight with Parkinson’s.  Her loving husband Patrick of 54 years was by her side.  

Lorraine was born on July 29th, 1946 in Elizabeth, NJ, where she later attended Battin High School.   Lorraine and Pat raised their 5 children in Elizabeth before moving to Westfield.  She was an Administrative Assistant to the Westfield Fire Department for 10 years. 

Her love for her family ran deep and she always cherished bringing everyone together.  Lorraine enjoyed baking and trying new recipes. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruises with her husband Pat.    

Lorraine was a devoted wife and mother to five wonderful children.  She took pride in all their accomplishments.  Her daughter Laura, a registered nurse, and her four boys Nicholas, Patrick, Thomas and Daniel, following in their Fathers’ footsteps, all becoming Police Officers.  

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Partick Norton, and her 5 children, daughter Laura and her husband Steve, her sons Nicholas and his partner Cynthia, Patrick and his wife Yudith, Thomas and his fiancé Katie , Daniel and his fiancé Ashley, and her eight grandchildren, Brian and his wife Brittany, Nicole, Dylan, Thomas, Connor, Cassady, Joseph and Kenzie, as well as her brother Michael and his wife Janice. Lorraine is pre-deceased by her parents, John and Dorothy Pennell, and her brother, John Pennell.

Lorraine will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
