Lorraine De Jianne Obituary

Lorraine De Jianne, 68, of Mountainside, New Jersey, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.  Born in Newark and raised in Hillside, Lorraine was the eldest daughter of Nicholas and Jennie Spadone. She graduated from Benedictine Academy, and after graduating from Montclair State University she started a career as a financial professional.  Lorraine went on to earn her MBA from Farleigh Dickinson University.

While working at Hess Corporation, she met her loving husband Joseph, marrying him in 1982. After her successful career in finance, Lorraine earned her Certification in Fine Arts Appraisals from New York University, allowing her to pursue her true professional passion in the auction, appraisal, and estate sales industry, which included consulting for Nye & Co. and founding her own company, MPT Estate Sales and Appraisals.

Lorraine loved the Jersey Shore, reading, had a passion for cooking, hosting her famous Feast of the Seven Fishes every Christmas Eve and enjoyed listening to her favorite music including the Eagles, Luther Vandross, Frank Sinatra and Andrea Boccelli.

Lorraine is predeceased by her parents Nicholas Spadone, Jennie Spadone, her sister Susan Spadone, and her grandson Nicholas John De Jianne. She is survived by her husband Joseph, her sister Judy, and her sons Michael and his wife Corinne, Peter, Thomas and his wife Amber, and her six grandchildren Drew, Zachary, Emma, Abigail, Henry (Jack), and Eliana.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Avenue, Westfield on Saturday, March 30th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 300 Central Avenue, Mountainside on Monday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m.  The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. 

In lieu of flowers, the De Jianne family respectfully requests donations be made in Lorraine’s name to the Gerald J. Glasser Brain Tumor Center.
