Leo Schwartz

On Sunday August 16, 2020, Leo Schwartz, 94, passed away peacefully at
Ashbrook Nursing Home in Scotch Plains.

Born on January 24, 1926, Leo was born and raised in Newark, NJ. He married the
love of his life, Jean Vineberg Schwartz, who he met and married in Montreal,
Quebec, in 1947. They remained happily married for 65 years until 2012 when
she passed.

Leo was a World War II vet.  Along with serving his country, Leo was a proprietor of Lincoln Shoes in Newark, NJ and eventually moved his business to Route 1 and Route 18. He and his wife developed a thriving family
shoe store, Clarkton Shoes, in Clark, NJ where they worked together for 45 years.
Leo loved life, family and friends, and always had a laugh to share.

Leo was predeceased by his wife, Jean, and two of his sons, Robert and Ed. He is
survived by his daughter, Cheri, and Abe Rogowsky, his son, Scott, and Susan
Schwartz, and his daughter in law, Barbara Schwartz. He was especially proud of
all of his grandchildren: Jaime Cohen, Michael Schwartz, Jason Rogowsky, Jordan
Rogowsky, Jesse Rogowsky, Josh Rogowsky, Danny Schwartz and Alison Schwartz.
He is also a great grandfather to 4 girls and 4 boys.

A small family service will be held graveside on Tuesday at Mt. Lebanon. Due to
Covid-19, the family will sit Shiva via Zoom Tuesday evening from 7pm to 8:30
