Lenore Vera Shapiro, age 92, passed away on July 26, 2023. Lenore was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She was a devoted wife to the late Eugene Shapiro. A loving mother to her three sons, Steven, Adam, and Michael. Grandmother to Elizabeth, Eric, Emeline, Serena, Jordan and Shai and mother-in-law to Wendy, Michelle, Kerry, Cindy, and Alisa. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Julius and Tessie Goodman.
Lenore graduated from Brooklyn College and received a master’s degree from Kean University in Union, New Jersey. She worked for several years as a school psychologist for the Whippany School system and was very devoted to her career, her colleagues and the students and families with whom she worked. She was an accomplished writer having publishedseveral articles and stories throughout her life.
Lenore enjoyed travelling to Israel and countries in Eastern Europe. She was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, belonging to writing groups, and attending lectures at the University of Washington and at her residence in Seattle.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
