Lauren S Pyne

Lauren S. Pyne of Bridgwater, passed away Sunday, June 23. She was born on July 28, 1961 in Elizabeth, NJ to parents Irving (deceased) and Edith Smith.

She was brought up alongside her older brother, Craig Smith, in North Plainfield, New Jersey. She went on to attend Rider University for a degree in Education, and then proceeded to achieve a Master’s degree at Kean University. Throughout her life, she worked in the Westfield School District for 35 years, where she focused on teaching 7th grade mathematics.

In July of 2001, Lauren was wed to her husband, Thomas Pyne, and moved to Bridgewater, NJ. Here is where the couple had their beloved daughter, Samantha Pyne (2005). Lauren spent the majority of her time with her husband and daughter, out by their pool enjoying the summer sun, or in their hot tub during the chilly winter. In spare time, she enjoyed marathon shopping with her daughter, watching movies, or reading dozens of books. Her favorite moments were spent with family and friends, lounging on their back deck or in the pool, dancing and singing to music from the 70s and 80s. Lauren is predeceased by her father, Irving Smith. She is survived by her mother, Edith Smith; her brother Craig Smith; her loving husband Thomas Pyne; and her daughter Samantha Pyne.

A funeral service for Lauren will be on Saturday, June 29 from 2 to 6 pm at Higgins and Bonner Funeral Home in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, her family requests a donation be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to your nearest animal shelter.
