Kathryn Huber Obituary

Kathryn (Esposito) Huber

November 29, 1947 – November 28, 2022

Kathryn (Esposito) Huber, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 28, 2022. Kathryn, known by her family and friends as Kathy, grew up in Elizabeth, NJ with her parents Alphonse and Helen (Cistaro) Esposito and her brother Peter.

Kathy loved life, especially being with her daughters Amie, Alyson, and Kate. Her energy and smile were contagious, and she always put her family first especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As a single mother, Kathy instilled strength, wisdom, and selflessness as she dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.  She loved them with her whole heart and was proud of everything they did. Kathy never missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events or school activities. Kathy loved Motown, dancing, watching college basketball, the beach, spending annual vacations in LBI and most of all being there for her family and friends. She was always there to support and touched the lives of all that she met. Kathy had a way of making you feel special and always knew the right thing to say. A parishioner of Saint Genevieve’s Church, Kathy’s strong Catholic faith was what set the foundation for her family.

Kathy worked for almost 25 years for the Elizabeth Board of Education greeting students, faculty, and visitors with a smile as the Head Secretary for Athletics. Her coworkers became close family friends and she always spoke so highly of her time spent at Dunn Sports center. She had great pride for the City of Elizabeth, she volunteered many years to the Elmora Youth League, she was an active member of Unico and Helping Hands. Kathy was a student at Holy Rosary school, Cleveland Middle School and Battin Highschool. She worked as a secretary at Thomas and Betts before starting her family.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Amie Johnson, daughter Alyson and her husband Richard Gianchiglia, and daughter Kate and her husband Nicholas Rodriguez. Her loving grandchildren Alfonzo, Stephanie, Ashley, Mallory, Ryan, Zachary, and Noah. Her great grandchildren Madison, Zaiden, and Natalia. She is also survived by her loving brother Peter Esposito and his wife Nancy, her nephews, many special cousins, and wonderful friends.

Kathy is predeceased by her parents, Alphonse and Helen, and her grandson, Anthony.
