Joseph Fred Bloomfield Obituary
Joseph Bloomfield
Air Force Veteran, Long-Time resident of Scotch Plains
Born in Elizabeth NJ, April 1, 1932. Proud United States Air Force veteran. Loving father of Natalie Dowd (David) Mark Bloomfield, devoted step-father of Dr. Hank Eisenberg and Ellen Winter-Mendleson. Adoring “zayde” to his six grandchildren. Also survived by sister Doris Polito, brother Norman Bloomfield, the extended Levenberg family, especially Tobi, David, Paul and Judy, and too many loving cousins and friends to count. He is predeceased by his parents, Nathan and Augusta and his sister Harriet,
Joe was devoted to his faith and extended family at Temple Beth El Mekor Chayim in Cranford. “Uncle Joe” could always be counted on for an unexpected drop-in, an impromptu guitar and harmonica serenade, some really bad jokes and complaining how his arm hurt. Friends and family will understand that last one.
Joe will be remembered fondly by those who knew him. He was gifted with a kind and gentle soul.
