John Petris

John Petris, a resident of Scotch Plains New Jersey, died on April 12, 2021 at Overlook Hospital. John is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Demetria Petris his children John (21) and Samuel (18), his parents George and Anthi Petris, brothers Chris Petris (wife, Susan) and Mario Petris, father and mother in law Sam and Dina Koliopoulos, brother and sister in law Charles and Nina Anastasiou and his nieces, nephews and beloved family.

John was born in Athens Greece on February 12, 1966. He later moved to the United States with his family and was raised in Fairview and Cliffside Park, New Jersey. John and his family were members of Ascension Greek Orthodox Church in Fairview. As a youth he was a member of GOYA, and later the Sons of Pericles. John attended Cliffside Park High School graduating in 1984. He then went on to attend the Teterboro School of Aeronautics to became an Aircraft Technician. John proudly worked for Continental/United Airlines for over 30 years where he made many life long friendships.

John and his family are members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Westfield New Jersey. He was also a member of The Order of AHEPA. He was proud of his Greek heritage and saw the importance of teaching these values to his sons.

John was a loving Husband and Father a devoted Son and Brother and loyal friend to everyone he met. John was taken too soon and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield, New Jersey on April 16, 2021. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 AM followed by Funeral Services at 11 AM. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, following the Service.
