John La Forte

John La Forte, of Edison, NJ passed away early Friday morning May 1, 2020 due to covid-19 complications. Born in Irvington on June 18, 1944 John La Forte grew up in Union, moving to Edison after marrying his wife, Roseann Merritt. John attended Union High School and following graduation he earned his cosmotogolgy license. John later became owner of Heads First and Salon 2000, both of which were located in Westfield, NJ. Ending his passion for hair at Sofis Color Lounge in westfield where he enjoyed everyone around him. In addition to his life long love for the game of golf and tennis, he enjoyed attending Jets games and spending days at the Horse track. 

John thoroughly embraced family life with his beautiful wife and loving daughter. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Roseann La Forte; their daughter, Lisa La Forte; son in-law Neil Kroncke; grandson, Aiden John Kroncke; his brother Robert La Forte; and sister in-law, Joan La Forte. 

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, a private funeral service will be held May 6, 2020 at Higgins & Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home of Westfield followed by a private burial at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.  On a later date a memorial service will be held to celebrate John La Forte. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside NJ.
