John C. Corsentino

John C. Corsentino of Elizabeth, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the age of 92.

John was born and raised in the Peterstown section of Elizabeth to Carmelo and Mary (Colletti) Corsentino on December 15, 1929. While attending Thomas Jefferson High School, John met his one and only true love and high school sweetheart, Marilyn Duffy. John was stationed in Japan during the Korean War and he and Marilyn were married upon his return home from the service. He was a member of Laborers International Union Local 394 for over 50 years, serving as secretary treasurer and business agent. 

John is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn; children, John, Daniel, Mary, Carl Corsentino, Ellen Bachert (Mark); his grandchildren, Alexandria Bachert (Sam Bull), Samantha Bachert, Michelle Corsentino; his great granddaughter, Delaney Rose; his brothers Carl Corsentino and Carmen Corsentino.

John will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a devoted husband, loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Higgins & Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home ,582 Springfield Ave., Westfield, on Friday, May 20, 2022. Funeral services for John will be at St. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey on Saturday, May 20, 2022 at 10:00am. John will be laid to rest at the Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
