John F. Barry, III

John F. Barry III, 70, of Mountainside NJ, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024 from complications following CAR T-cell therapy for multiple myeloma.   John was the son of the late John F. Barry Jr. and Jacqueline (Clarke) Barry of Mountainside, N.J.

John graduated from Governor Livingston Regional High School in Berkeley Heights, where he played several varsity sports.  He was academically gifted and was a kind, generous and religious person throughout his life.  

He is survived by sisters Katherine Barlow (Paul), Mary Hammond (Dwain), Alice Michaels (Lorne) and brothers Christopher (Nancy) and Robert (late Nancy).  He has eleven nieces and nephews and ten grand nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield NJ higginsandbonner.com on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Mountainside on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ
