Joanna Carpency

Joanna Carpency, 78 passed away peacefully Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ with family.  She was the daughter of Stephen Kuba and Ann (Sabolchik) Kuba of Pottsville, PA and resided in Mountainside, NJ for 56 years. 

She worked as a caregiver to children for 14 years at the Scotch Plains/Fanwood YMCA. 

She loved the simple pleasures of being with family, attending the Mountainside Active Retirees events, The Westfield Theatre, Papermill Playhouse and her yearly trips to Ortley Beach with beloved friends. 

She is survived by husband Donald Carpency, Son Chris Carpency (wife Karen, stepson Cameron) and Daughter Barbara (Carpency) Malosky (husband Tracey). 

Family and friends whose lives Joanna touched are welcome to attend mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 300 Central Ave., Mountainside, NJ Friday, March 26 at 10am.   

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
