Jeffrey Lawrence Janota passed away unexpectedly at his home in Westfield, NJ on February 8th surrounded by his family with love.
Jeff is survived by his wife Toni Janota, children, Andie and Cooper, parents, Lawrence and Betty Anne Janota of Aberdeen, NJ, sister Jill Davolio, his loving in-laws, Anthony and Annette Lenge of Hoboken, NJ, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.
Jeff was born on July 21, 1970 in Staten Island, NY. He graduated from Marist College in 1993 with a degree in Environmental Science later earning a Master’s degree from Rutgers University in City Planning.
After an initial blind date that led to several years together in Hoboken, Jeff and Toni were married on August 17, 2002. They loved to travel together as a family, and share fine wines and martinis on date nights.
Jeff was always surrounded by an amazing group of friends he made through high school and college. The consummate host, he loved to entertain and always did it with a sense of humor and style.
As a member of the Echo Lake Country Club, he enjoyed his days on the golf course with his father Larry who was the perfect partner, something Larry will cherish forever.
Jeff had a strong connection with nature and the outdoors, spending time camping, kayaking and going on nature walks.
But more than anything, Jeff loved just being with his family. From board games and wiffle ball to watching Marist basketball games with Cooper and making homemade pasta with Andie - family was his focus.
A wake is scheduled from 4-8pm on Thursday, February 11th at Higgins & Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield, NJ. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jeff's life. Interment will be held for family and friends on Friday, February 12th, at 10am at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ.
