Jean D. Teufel

Jean D. Teufel (Douglas), loving wife and mother of three children, passed away on August 5, 2019, at the age of 94.  Jean was born on July 16, 1925, in East Orange to Matthew and Sarah (Smith) Douglas.  Living in Union her entire life, Jean fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher and worked at Franklin Elementary School for 25 years. She was an active member of Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church for over 85 years. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Albert L. Teufel and brother, John Douglas. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Lucas and her husband Paul and Robin Samoilow and her husband Charlie, her son, Albert J. Teufel, her grandchildren, Erin Teufel and Melissa Scuderi and her husband Carmin, her great-granddaughter, Sarah Rose Scuderi, and her brother, Robert C. Douglas.  Jean was blessed to have many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church, 880 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ 07083. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church.
