Jane Schmit, age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20,2022.
Jane was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts where she fell in love with a Worcester Polytech student, Charles Schmit. They married on November 29, 1947.
Shortly after their marriage, Jane and Charles moved to Westfield, N. J., where they raised their two children, Chuck and Susan, and made many lifelong friendships. When she wasn’t busy running the Schmit household, Jane volunteered her time in several community charities.
After Charles retired, Jane and Charles moved to Greenbriar in Toms River to enjoy their retirement years, watching their family grow. Several years after Charles passed away, Jane moved to Seabrook in Tinton Falls where she spent the remainder of her long and amazing life.
In addition to spending much of her time enjoying her friends and family, Jane enjoyed traveling, tennis, golf and participating in community musical productions.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, John and Elizabeth Kervick, and her brother, Richard Kervick.
She is survived by her loving children, Chuck Schmit and his wife Barbara, and Susan Faulkner and her husband Ed. She was also blessed with five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, She was also survived by Brigitte Kervick, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A viewing will take place Thursday, March 24 from 4:30-7:30 at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield. A funeral mass will be held on March 25 at 10 AM at St Helens Roman Catholic Church in Westfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Jane’s memory.
