Jack Lorentzen Obituary

Jack Lorentzen, who brought joy into every room he entered, passed from this life to the next on Christmas Eve morning at his fiancé’s parents’ home in St. Louis, MO. Jack was 30 years old. Jack was born October 26,1992 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ about 6 minutes before his twin sister, Charlotte was born. He grew up an amazingly happy child and he and Charlotte enjoyed the company of many friends.

As a youngster, Jack played Lacrosse for the Tri-State League where he was a long-stick defenseman. In later years, Jack had a very successful swimming career. He was a member of the Fanwood and Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) swim team and The Westfield YMCA swim team, where he set many records. Throughout high school, the swim team enjoyed many successes to include State Championship, State Final meets and Jack was named co-captain his Senior year.

His family and he were active in the Presbyterian Church in Westfield that they attended every Sunday and where Jack and his siblings served in the Agape Soup Kitchen in Elizabeth and several mission trips to Iowa and Guatemala, building homes for those who were devastated by storms.

After high school, Jack attended and graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. As a freshman, Jack swam breaststroke for Lehigh and at the Patriot League finals that year, Jack made finals in all four of his events.

Jack’s closet friend and lifelong companion was his twin sister, Charlotte. Their relationship was the predominant thread that tied them so closely together and to say they were inseparable, is a woefully inadequate description, they completed each other.
Adam, Jack’s older brother, shared a strong relationship that was a deep and abiding brotherhood. They spoke at length and often.

In 2016, Jack met his fiancé, soul mate and love of his life, Jack Ciapciak. From the very beginning, they both knew their meeting was something special, a one of a kind, and they were constant companions. They were engaged to be married in the autumn of 2023 and their relationship became the defining force in Jack’s life. The two Jacks were incredibly happy together.

In his professional life and career, Jack was passionate about his role as Senior Manager of Customer Experience at Brooklinen and equally as passionate about the company for which he worked so diligently. It was truly Jack’s dream job, a job he was born to do.

We will always remember and can never forget our beloved Jack, the light of our lives. His great, sweet smile, his infectious joy, his endearing personality and demeanor will be with us until we unite with him again in the life after this. God bless you, Jack. God bless you…

Jack is survived by his Mom and Dad, Susan and Kent Lorentzen of Brick, NJ, his older brother Adam, his sister Charlotte of Hoboken, NJ and his fiancé, Jack Ciapciak of New York City and St. Louis, MO.
