Hermina Marta Alvarez

Hermina Marta Alvarez, age 90 (almost 6 hours away from being 91), peacefully passed away on
Monday, October 12, 2020 at 6:48pm surrounded by family. Born October 13, 1929 in Cuba,
which is where she married her beloved husband, Humberto. Together they moved to the US in
1967 and they ran a successful hardware store for over 40 years. Marta was small, but always
had the big personality of the marriage. Marta was tough, but silently sweet and outwardly
adventurous. Her immense generosity and kindness was always felt when she consistently gave
cuban espresso to everyone who entered the hardware store. Marta was a loving mother to her
only son, Humberto, mother-in-law to Anelys, and grandmother to Melissa, Meagan, and
Michelle. She will be missed. Rest in peace our dear Marta.
