Gail Wood

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Gail Wood. Gail was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was always there when anyone needed her. She left this world suddenly on December 7, 2023 at age 83. We are saddened by our loss, but blessed with the memories of her kind soul that will live in our hearts forever. 

Gail was born to Edith and Gilbert Rust on November 2, 1940. After graduating from Westfield High School, Gail married her best friend, Anthony Wood. Together, they had two loving daughters, Donna and Patricia. 

Gail was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Anthony. She is survived by her daughters Donna King (Tracy) and Patricia Refinski (Joe) along with her three grandchildren, Sasha (Patrick), Zachary, and Eric, as well as step-grandchildren Alison, Brady, Andy and 6 great-grandchildren, her “daughter in spirit” Carol (Howard), and her brother Bruce Rust (Sandra) and her dear cousin, Dorothy Dunn.

Gail had many friends from her 40 years of work with the Union County Educational Services  Commission and was a well-loved member of the community in which she lived. 

She showed unconditional love to everyone she met. Every day was a celebration when she gathered with loved ones and friends. Her laugh and joy were infectious to all.
