Gail (Kaplan) Schwartz

Gail Kaplan Schwartz, our mother, nana, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend passed away
peacefully on May 11, 2021. She is survived by many relatives who will miss her dearly
including her children, Abby Schwartz and Alyssa and Tyler O’Connell (and their son Jacob
O’Connell), and her siblings Benjamin Kaplan and Donna and Sandy McAdams. A graduate of
the Fashion Institute of Technology, Gail was a gifted artist who worked in everything from
pastels to oil paint. One of her favorite things to do with her daughters was to visit art museums
and galleries. Gail had a flair for decorating and was always happy to offer ideas – which were
always right! She loved nothing more than a good meal (and a white wine spritzer) with good
friends. Gail was her daughters’ biggest cheerleader, and always encouraged them to reach their
goals. She was a wonderful nana to Jacob, and he will miss his GiGi very much. We all will. A
graveside service will take place May 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in
