Francesco Paolo D'Innocenzio passed away at Center for Hope in Scotch Plains, NJ on Friday December 31, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old.
Francesco is survived by his loving wife Rosa (Pascarella) of 53 years from Kenilworth, NJ, son Michael (Tammi) D'Innocenzio of Roselle Pk., NJ and daughter Assunta 'Sue" Appicie (Chris) of Warren, NJ with two beautiful granddaughters Victoria and Isabella. He is predeceased by his father Michael and mother Nicoletta (Palumbo) D'Innocenzio and survived by his brother Joseph (Domenica), nephew Michael (Carol) D'Innocenzio and sister Margherita (Joseph) , nephew Daniele Rollo.
Francesco was born in Deliceto, Foggia Italy on May 6, 1939 and worked as a cabinet maker/carpenter. He wanted to make a new life for himself and moved to Germany for several years before moving to the United States in his early 20's. He met and married his wife Rosa in Cathedral Basilica of Sacred Heart Newark, NJ on June 16, 1968. Francesco worked for the Newark Board of Education for over 3 decades before retiring. He struggled with many illnesses including an eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa, which eventually created total blindness, and he survived being the recipient of a liver transplant 15+ yrs ago.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 4 to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Theresa's RC Church in Kenilworth
