Felice "Phil" Sacco Obituary

Felice “Phil” Sacco was born on October 13, 1943 in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up in Newark with his siblings Fred, Stan, and Phyllis. Phil was always the life of the party; he brought joy wherever he went. He was happiest surrounded by his children, grandchildren and all the friends he thought of as family. He lived a life full of laughter, love and plenty of great stories.

Phil served in the army from 1960-1966 and then joined the NJ Marine  police. Phil had many different jobs but most recently he was employed at Sanitation Truck Repair, where he was a co-owner.

Phil married Helen Sacco on February 5, 1966. They had 4 children and raised them in Westfield, NJ; where he spent most of his life. During his time in Westfield, he met lifelong friends.. Helen and Phil were practicing Catholics and joined the Holy Trinity Parish.

Phil loved to travel with his loved ones and friends. He enjoyed many trips all over the United States, tropical islands and cruises. He would hardly ever say no to a good vacation.

Later in life, Phil lived out his dream and bought a house in Bayville, NJ on the water. Phil loved being on the water and boating. You could almost always find him on the back porch smoking a cigar and watching the sunset or soaking up the sun in the hot tub. His house was always full of life; with an open-door policy everyone was welcome.

Phil is predeceased by his wife Helen Sacco and daughter Cheryl Sacco Hoff. He is survived by his children Alicia Bongiovanni, Troy and Tonia Sacco , Audra and Jim Bowman and his son in law Roy Hoff, as well as his grandchildren Tyler Bowman, Jaime Bowman, Anna Bongiovanni, Michael Bongiovanni and Nicholas Hoff. He is also survived by his long-term friend Josie Porter.

Phil always lit up whatever room he was in. He always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. He always said, “money was meant to be spent on enjoying life”. He touched many people’s lives and will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
