Enrique Arturo Bernal

Enrique Arturo Bernal passed away on January 4, 2020 in Summit, New Jersey. He was 88 years old. Enrique was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many throughout New Jersey, Florida, and his beloved homeland of Colombia. Enrique dedicated his life to family, community service, and charitable causes. He was a founding and proud member of local chapters of The Lions Club International. He was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner at the various churches at which he worshipped. He always gave freely of his time to help others in need and set an example of community service for his children and grandchildren. He was a music lover and was widely known for his extensive collection of records. He celebrated life, family, and friendship at every opportunity. He always instilled in his loved ones the importance of family first. 

Enrique is survived by his loving wife, Stella, of 57 years; his daughters Gisela, Nazly, and Talia; son in laws Pedro, Carlos, and Dan; grandchildren Evelyn, Jacklyn, Nicholes, Carly, Dylan, and Mark; great grandchildren Emma and Ella; and brothers Eduardo and Hugo.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11am at St. Genevieve’s R.C. Church located at 200 Monmouth Road, Elizabeth, NJ 07208. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Lions Club International/ Vision Program or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
