Elizabeth Trupchak passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Mountainside, NJ at the age of 69. Born in Wingdale, New York on November 17, 1951 she was the youngest of three children to William and Elizabeth Nethercott. Raised in Port Chester, New York, she attended St. Mary's School and Resurrection School in Rye, NY. After marrying her husband John on June 25, 1972, the couple moved to Stamford, Connecticut where they raised their son, Scott. Elizabeth graduated from Sacred Heart University in 1997 as a business major and spent over 20 years working for General Electric as an executive assistant.
Elizabeth volunteered much of her time as a social director in elderly care facilities in Cape Cod as well as Pennsylvania, specifically St. Joe's Villa in Flowerton, a place very close to her heart. Liz loved spending time at her home in Cape Cod, sitting on the beach, walking her yellow labs, doing yard work and shell fishing. Nothing brought Elizabeth more joy than being with her grandchildren, Charlotte and Will. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and undoubtedly the most kind hearted person in any room.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John. She is lovingly remembered by her son Scott and his wife Jennifer, two grandchildren Charlotte and William, sister Mary Jane Tuttle and her husband Robert, brother William Nethercott, Jr. and his wife Diane, and her 12 nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be forthcoming in Port Chester, New York at a date to be determined in late spring 2021. Elizabeth suffered from a terrible disease for which there is currently no cure. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to: The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition (www.multiplesystematrophy.org), to aid in research efforts to help those affected by MSA.
